Rack Strippers

With most types of plating, electroless or electrolytic, metal will often build up on non-critical surfaces, such as rack tips.  Metalline Corporation manufactures the following chemical rack stripping formulations:

  • METALLINE ERS is a liquid electrolytic rack stripper that will, in a single tank, rapidly remove chrome, nickel and copper deposits from stainless steel rack tips.  ERS can be used to strip electrolytic and electroless nickel without attacking the stainless steel rack tips.  A DC rectifier is required to provide the current necessary to strip the chrome, nickel and copper deposits.  Stripped metals can be filtered out or allowed to settle out and form a sludge that will have to be removed over time.  With proper maintenance the ERS process solution will provide years of service without the need to dump and waste treat the chemistry.
  • METALLINE RS-22 is a powder that is added to nitric acid to increase the strip rate and extend the life of a nitric acid nickel strip tank.  RS-22 can be added to nitric acid to strip electrolytic and electroless nickel from stainless steel, aluminum and plastic rack tips.
  • METALLINE NiS-5723 is a powdered alkaline electrolytic stripper that will rapidly remove Nickel plated deposits from steel and stainless steel substrates.  A DC rectifier is required to provide the current necessary to strip the Nickel deposits.  NiS-5723 does NOT contain any cyanide and when properly maintained it will not etch steel substrates.  NiS-5723 can also be used to effectively remove nickel deposits from steel and stainless steel rack tips.
